Online Therapy for Children and Young People

Might online therapy be helpful for your child? Is your child struggling with school pressure, avoiding school or refusing attendance, anxiety, low mood or perhaps you have concerns about a change in behaviour? Seeking therapy for a child might feel daunting, maybe you feel that you should be able to understand but oftentimes just as with adults, children want to protect their loved ones from painful feelings.

Talking with a compassionate unrelated professional therapist can feel like a relief and provide an outlet for silenced anxieties. I offer talk therapy with elements of creative and emotional support as well as offering resources for coping such as grounding techniques and strategies.

Having worked with children in secondary school, private practice and at a charity that provides support for family members of children with complex medical matters, I can attest to the perspective that person centred therapy benefits young people as much as adults. Having a safe and confidential space to share fears, worries, concerns and anxieties as well as learning new ways of grounding and thinking about things can help. Other topics that I have worked with secondary school age children include neurodivergence and its impact, bereavement, relationship or friendship conflicts, family issues and more.

If you have concerns about your child and would like to know more about counselling services, please feel free to reach out for a call with no pressure or obligation. If you’d like to have a discussion or ask any questions, please feel free to get in touch and I will reply within a few days. If you’re interested to book an appointment, then I will try to provide a time that will fit around school times and family schedules.
